Your Right to Delete Your Data
At SettleSavvy, we respect your privacy and your right to control your personal information. You have the right to request deletion of your personal data at any time. This page explains how to request data deletion and what happens when you do.
How to Request Data Deletion
Option 1: Through Your Account
- Log in to your SettleSavvy account
- Navigate to your account settings or preferences
- Look for the "Delete Account" or "Delete My Data" option
- Follow the prompts to confirm deletion
Option 2: Via Email Request
Send an email to privacy@settlesavvy.com with the subject line "Data Deletion Request" and include:
- Your full name
- The email address associated with your SettleSavvy account
- A clear statement that you want to delete your account and all associated data
- If you used Facebook Login, please mention this in your request
Option 3: For Facebook Login Users
If you signed up using Facebook Login, you can also:
- Revoke SettleSavvy's access to your Facebook account through your Facebook account settings
- Then contact us at privacy@settlesavvy.com to request deletion of your SettleSavvy account data
What Data Will Be Deleted
When you request data deletion, we will permanently delete:
- Your account profile information (name, email, phone number)
- Your authentication credentials and linked social accounts (Google, Facebook)
- Your saved neighborhoods and preferences
- Your property search history and saved searches
- Your saved maps and customizations
- Any notes or preferences you've configured
- Your usage analytics data associated with your account
What Data May Be Retained
In certain circumstances, we may be required to retain some information for legal or operational reasons:
- Legal Obligations: Information required to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements
- Anonymized Data: Aggregated or anonymized data that cannot be used to identify you
- Backup Systems: Data in backup systems may be retained until the next backup cycle (typically up to 30 days)
- Third-Party Services: Some data may remain with third-party service providers (e.g., analytics services) until their retention periods expire
Processing Time
We will process your data deletion request within 30 days of receiving it. You will receive a confirmation email once your data has been deleted. If we need additional time or information to process your request, we will notify you.
Important Considerations
⚠️ Irreversible Action
Data deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Once your account and data are deleted, you will need to create a new account if you wish to use SettleSavvy again in the future.
📧 Verification Required
For security purposes, we may need to verify your identity before processing a deletion request. This helps ensure that only you can delete your own data.
🔗 Third-Party Accounts
If you used Facebook or Google Login, revoking our app's access through those platforms does not automatically delete your SettleSavvy account data. You must separately request deletion from us.
Facebook-Specific Instructions
If you signed up using Facebook Login, here are specific steps for managing your data:
To Revoke Facebook Access:
- Go to your Facebook account settings
- Navigate to "Apps and Websites" or "Business Integrations"
- Find "SettleSavvy" in the list
- Click "Remove" or "Revoke Access"
To Delete Your SettleSavvy Data:
After revoking Facebook access (or if you prefer to skip that step), send a deletion request to privacy@settlesavvy.com with:
- Your email address (the one associated with your Facebook account)
- Confirmation that you used Facebook Login
- Your request to delete all SettleSavvy data
